《指挥部：二战》是一款快节奏回合制战略游戏，通过三场以情节驱动的战役和大量的遭遇战展开诺曼底登陆战的宏大场面。选择阵营，组建部队，指派英雄，升级单位，并使用指挥部技能来攻克敌人。完整了解剧情的方方面面需要完成3场战役，每场包含9个行动。游戏涉及美国、英国和德国在诺曼底登陆时期的战役。每个单位都有各自的团队，而团队则是任何单位的核心。损失不同的队员会对单位造成不同的惩罚。损失炮手则单位攻击点数减少，损失司机则单位机动性降低，等等。在6张遭遇战地图上分别对战AI，考验你的技能。为满足不同的胜利条件，需要灵活制定计划和运用战术。
