La Zona de Exclusión de Chernobyl ha cambiado drásticamente después de la segunda gran explosión en 2006. Mutantes violentos, anomalías mortales y facciones en guerra han convertido la Zona en un lugar extremadamente peligroso para sobrevivir. Sin embargo, los artefactos de un valor increíble atrajeron a muchas personas conocidas como S.T.A.L.K.E.R.s, quienes ingresaron a la Zona a su propio riesgo, buscando hacer fortuna o incluso encontrar la Verdad oculta en el Corazón de Chernobyl. Asume el papel de un stalker solitario y explora un mundo abierto fotorrealista y continuo en una zona radiactiva de 64 km², con una variedad de entornos que muestran la atmósfera post-apocalíptica desde diferentes perspectivas. Cruza la Zona para definir tu destino, eligiendo tus caminos dentro de una historia épica con múltiples ramificaciones. Encuentra miembros de diferentes facciones y decide quién de ellos merece tu amistad y quién una bala. Participa en intensos tiroteos con enemigos que siguen diferentes tácticas para intentar superarte. Elige tus armas preferidas de entre más de 30 tipos, con numerosas modificaciones que permiten crear cientos de combinaciones letales únicas.
