Musashi wears the Oni Gauntlet, a cursed gift that lets him cut Genma down, absorb their souls, and push past ordinary human limits. A voice speaks from the gauntlet; you never get a clean answer about who is really talking. Capcom modeled his face after the late Toshiro Mifune, so he reads like a classic samurai film lead rather than a generic action hero.

Combat stays close and brutal. You fight through landmarks like Kiyomizu-dera, now warped by Malice, and meet rivals who can match Musashi swing for swing.
