Corporal Wilson's Diary, March 7, 1945. Near Remagen, Germany. We've just captured the bridge at Remagen, pulling off a surprise breakthrough. Speed was on our side. The day was cold, no snow thankfully, but our breath still made clouds in the crisp air. We moved into action, flanking their Pak 40 positions with our Shermans and securing the east bank with a 75mm M1 Howitzer barrage, advancing before they could react.
