run it with parameter -savetouserdir from desktop shortcut

if your game crashes on launch, follow the steps :

If you only have the .exe file (no shortcut yet), you can still add that -savetouserdir parameter. Here’s how:

Option 1: Make your own shortcut
Right-click the sh2.exe (or whatever it’s called).
Select Create shortcut.
Right-click the new shortcut → Properties.
In Target, you’ll see something like:

"D:\Games\SilentHill\sh2.exe"

Add the parameter after it (with a space):

"D:\Games\SilentHill\sh2.exe" -savetouserdir
Click Apply → OK.
Run the game using this shortcut, not the raw exe. ✅
