The European Space Agency sends the Hope-01 mission, with two of its best astronauts, Ariane and Thomas, on board. Their task is clear – explore Persephone and find out if this frozen world can become a new beginning for mankind. Your journey starts in chaos. After a crash landing, Ariane and Thomas are separated, each stranded alone on the icy surface of Persephone. You will guide them as they fight to survive, reunite, and complete their mission in an alien world full of dangers and mysteries. Aphelion delivers a cinematic third-person action-adventure experience set on Persephone, a breathtaking but hostile planet where survival is never guaranteed. Explore dramatic alien landscapes shaped by shifting ice and deadly storms. Use your exploration gear – pathfinder, oxygen tank, grappling hook, and more – to push through harsh environments, avoid lurking threats, and uncover the secrets hidden beneath the surface. Every step reveals more of Persephone’s surreal beauty and its deadly challenges. Play as Ariane, who must brave the shifting terrain using her Pathfinder tool to navigate treacherous chasms and melting ice, risking her life at every turn to find Thomas. Meanwhile, Thomas, injured and alone, must rely on his wits and resourcefulness, scavenging and adapting to survive in the aftermath of the crash. Both characters must investigate the cause of their disaster and the strange phenomena warping reality on Persephone. But you are not alone – a hostile lifeform is on the hunt.
