About This Game

The Thing That Happened is an open-world third-person action adventure survival game. Take on your enemies using a wide variety of weapons, attachments, close combat skill trees, and crafting options to adapt and survive. Step into the shoes of Marcus Draven as he arrives in the ruined city of Jericho. The city lies in shambles, scattered with relics from a lost civilization. After days spent scavenging for food and supplies, Marcus faces a harsh new reality in a world where every day is a fight for survival. Explore a desolate landscape filled with crumbling buildings and overgrown streets, where an eerie silence hangs in the air. Once a thriving metropolis, Jericho now stands as a ghost town haunted by echoes of its past. Yet, even in this unforgiving world, the resilience and sense of community among Jericho’s survivors shine through, offering hope in the darkest times. Experience a journey that showcases the human spirit’s drive to survive, adapt, and rebuild even when faced with overwhelming odds. The Thing That Happened is a passion project created by just two people. We built the game using assets from the UE Marketplace, Sketchfab, and AI tools, much like many indie teams and even major developers today.
